Wilmslow Conservative Club recently hosted the 7th annual Jean Potts Memorial Trophy bowling competition in aid of the British Heart Foundation.

Jean Potts was a popular and successful bowls player for the Club and the Cheshire leagues for many years but sadly Jean died suddenly in December 2005. The Jean Potts Memorial Trophy knockout bowling competition for mixed pairs was established in 2007 by her son Alan to commemorate Jean.

The annual event provided an opportunity for bowling enthusiasts from the surrounding area to compete for the trophy and this year raised a record £406 for the British Heart Foundation.

The final turned out to be a tense match with Steve Kingston and Pam Wynn, both players for Wilmslow Conservative Club, winning 21-18 against Knutsford's Cross Town Bowling Club members Nigel Blackley and Heather O'Hanlon.
