Victoria Pendleton receives her CBE

Wilmslow cycling champion Victoria Pendleton has received her CBE from the Queen at Buckingham Palace today.

Victoria, 32, retired from professional cycling this summer after the London Olympics, which marked the end to her glittering career.

She won gold in the kierin at the 2012 Summer Olympics and silver in the sprint, to add to the gold medal she won in the sprint at the Beijing Olympics in 2008 and nine world titles.

The golden girl of British track cycling was appointed an MBE in 2009 for her services to cycling.

Victoria arrived at Buckingham Palace with her fiance Scott Gardner who she will marry in the summer.
