Cheshire Youth Pantomime Society (CHYPS) will be auditioning for new members over the next few weeks. The award winning society is looking for a few highly talented local 11 to 19 year-olds to join their award winning cast.

There will be audition sessions at Wilmslow High School on Monday 18th March, 4:00pm – 6:00pm, and at Poynton High School on Monday 25th March, 4.00pm – 6:00pm.

Ian Hunt, CHYPS Chairman, said "These auditions are open to pupils from all local schools and colleges. The only requirement is that they must be between 11 and 19 in September this year and be available to perform from 7 to 11 January 2014.

"They don’t need to have performing experience but they should have a passion and talent for the performing arts. We are looking for actors/singers and dancers.

"At the audition actors/singers can choose what song to sing and it would be best to practice it before they come. They can bring a backing track if they want or we will have a pianist there to accompany them if they bring sheet music. If they have something they would like to act they could bring it or we will choose something from one of our panto scripts for them to do. It only needs to be a couple of minutes long.

"Dancers should be prepared to perform a short piece that showcases their talent."

CHYPS next pantomime will be Aladdin and it will be performed at The Woodford Centre next January.
