Stockport Council has published revised plans for the Woodford Aerodrome site which reduce the number of proposed homes from 950 to between 750 and 850.

Following consultation with residents and community groups, the Council has released the final Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) which provides guidance for the future of the site.

The initial proposal to create a garden village community of 950 houses by merging the two existing Major Existing Developed Sites has been replaced with three options which would deliver between 750 and 850 houses.

More than 700 comments were received on the draft SPD.

Stockport Council's Bramhall and Cheadle Hulme Area Committee will discuss the final SPD at an extraordinary meeting this evening, Monday 10th December, at The Woodford Centre.

Stockport Council's Environment and Economy Scrutiny Committee will hold an extraordinary meeting on Tuesday, 18th December, at Stockport Town Hall to discuss the document. A decision is expected to be made at a meeting of Stockport Council's Executive on Monday 7th January 2013.
