Cheshire East Council and Wilmslow Town Council are holding a homecoming event to celebrate the achievements of Olympian Victoria Pendleton and Paralympian Craig MacLean at the recent games in London.

Victoria and Craig both live in the town and it is hoped that local residents will come out to show their support and cheer on the cyclists on Wednesday, October 31st.

An open top parade will tour the streets of Wilmslow, where Craig will be showing off the gold medal he won as a pilot in the men's tandem sprint for the blind and visually impaired. Craig will be joined by his cycling partner Andrew Kappes, who lives in nearby Hazel Grove.

This will be followed by a civic reception at the leisure centre where Craig will be joined by Victoria, who won a gold and silver on the track in London. There will be speeches from Cheshire East Council's Mayor and the Chair of Wilmslow Town Council.

After the formalities Victoria and Craig will answer questions and pose for photos.

The parade starts at 5.30 pm at Holy Road North, turning right into Alderley Road, along Grove Street, right into Swan Street and ending at Wilmslow Leisure Centre at 6.15pm.
