Supercars gear up for spectacular Wilmslow Motor Show

Final preparations are underway for the first ever Wilmslow Motor Show which will see the town centre transformed for the day into a hotbed of high-end luxury cars.

The show, organised by Wilmslow Business Group, will start with a spectacular supercar parade through the streets of Wilmslow, setting off from the Boddington Arms at 10.30am on Saturday, 22nd September.

Twenty of the most incredible, fastest road cars that money can buy will be touring round the town before entering the supercar paddock in Church Street.

The cars will travel from the Boddington Arms down Altrincham Road, turning right at Hawthorn Street and down to the King's Arms roundabout before coming back into town up Alderley Road, turning left into Water Lane and back down Hawthorn Street. The second lap will see the supercars travel up Alderley Road again, they will then come down Green Lane past the Etihad Formula 1 car on Bank Square before heading down Church Street to the Pareto Law Paddock where they will be on show for the rest of the day.

There will be 40 luxury cars on display down the middle of Grove Street, giving visitors an opportunity to have a look at the cars and chat to the dealers.

You can also take a trip around the streets of Wilmslow in a Lamborghini Aventador or an Aston Martin, in return for a donation to charity, and visitors will also be able to see Etihad's Formula One car which is being flown over from Abu Dhabi especially for the show.

The event will be attended by professional racing driver Oliver Webb. Local lad Oliver has progressed through the junior ranks and now competes in the Worldseries competition (one level below Formula 1) and The Indy Lights championship in America. Oliver also works in close conjunction with supercar manufacturer BAC who will be bringing the locally made BAC Mono supercar to the show.

Radio 2 DJ Chris Hawkins will be compere for the Etihad Wilmslow Motor Show, providing regular updates on what's happening throughout the day. He will be positioned outside Bang & Olufsen on Bank Square, using all their equipment to compere the event.

The Etihad Wilmslow Motor Show will take place between 10am and 4pm on Saturday 22nd September.

Grove Street and Grove Avenue, from its junction with Grove Street to its junction with Grove Way, will both be closed from 5am until 6pm on the day.
