Cycling takes off in Wilmslow

Cyclists of all ages got together last Saturday, 19th May, to take part in the 2nd Wilmslow Family Bike ride which ran from the Artisan Market.

Over 30 cyclists of all ages took part in the 9 mile ride starting at the Transition Wilmslow stall and encompassing Lindow, Manchester Airport, and Quarry Bank Mill. The event was organised by Transition Wilmslow in partnership with Cycle Wilmslow, and Wilmslow bike retailer, Royles, was on hand to offer a free "Bike Doctor" service and cycling advice.

Rachel Corrigan of Transition Wilmslow said: "The ride was a great success and once again we were lucky with the weather. It's amazing what great lanes and cycle paths there are right on our doorstep. Many thanks to Royles for coming along and offering a bike doctor service which cyclists were queuing up for."

Rob Sawyer of CycleWilmslow added: "It was great to see such a big turnout – even better than on our inaugural ride last Autumn. We hope to see everyone again on the rides we are planning to tie in with the July and September Artisan markets"

The next ride will take place from the July Artisan market on Saturday, 21st May.
