Gear up for some cycling fun

start of ride

Following on from the success of the their first family bike ride in September, Transition Wilmslow and Cycle Wilmslow are gearing up for the second Wilmslow Family Bike Ride.

The bike ride is taking place on Saturday, 19th May, and will depart from the Transition Wilmslow stall at the Wilmslow Artisan Market.

Cycle retailer Royles will be on hand at the stall to provide a complementary bike doctor service, as well as offering tips and advice on safe family cycling.

Registration will be available from 10am at the stall with the ride commencing at 1.30pm, setting off from Grove Avenue.

The ride is expected to take one and a half hours, covering nine miles - encompassing Alderley, Lindow, Manchester Airport, Quarry Bank Mill and The Carrs.

Pippa Jones, a member of Transition Wilmslow, said "The ride is a great opportunity for the family to get out and exercise together. In fact why not cycle to the market, have a good look around the stalls then take advantage of the bike doctor and join us for the ride. Cycling is fun as well as environmentally friendly and riders of all ability are in great hands with Cycle Wilmslow – who are a fantastic bunch!"

Cycle Wilmslow and Transition Wilmslow are aiming for a summer of cycling fun, organising bike rides for the July and September market, in addition to the May market.
