Two local groups have joined forces to provide additional seating in The Carrs for local people to relax and enjoy.
The two new benches have been donated by the Wilmslow Ladies' Circle who approached The Friends of The Carrs towards the end of last year to see how they could help.
The Ladies' Circle in Wilmslow is part of a national organisation for women between the ages of 18 and 45 who want to give something back to the community as well as to meet socially.
Thanks to the fund raising efforts of Wilmslow Ladies' Circle the two new seats have now been installed on The Carrs.
Shanila Baseley, former President of Wilmslow Ladies' Circle said "We are very pleased that we have been able to support a local community group that promotes the protection and enjoyment of our open spaces in this way."
Colin Shepherd Chairman of the Friends added "We are delighted that by working with a local group it has been possible to improve facilities and are very grateful for the support of the Ladies' Circle."
One of the seats has been placed to the rear of the main picnic area and is proving to be very popular, as it is close to the river and in a very sunny location. The second seat is located further along The Carrs in a more central position.
