Styal Road closed for urgent removal of trees

Styal Road will be closed for up to three days this week to enable the removal of dangerous trees that are overhanging the carriageway.

The road will be closed between the entrance to Twinnies Car Park and the River Dean.

Due to the size of the horse chestnut, its condition and its proximity in relation to the road, the removal needs to be undertaken with the road closure in place. The second tree is a sycamore which will be removed during the same operation.

Styal Road will be closed for a maximum of three days, from Tuesday 28th February until Thursday 1st March, although Cheshire East Council do not expect the work to take longer than two days.

The alternative route during the closure will be via B5166 Hollin Lane, Finney Lane, B5358 Wilmslow Road, B5094 Stanley Road, A34, A538, and B5116 Manchester Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times and vehicular access will be maintained for emergency vehicles and residents.

If you have any enquiries relating to the works please contact Emma Hood at Cheshire East Council on telephone number 03001235020 or Tim Moore at A Plant Traffic Management Company on telephone number 01617963399.
