Police appeal following travel agent robbery

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses following the robbery of a travel agents in Handforth on Friday, 6th January.

At 9.39am police were called to Co-operative Travel in The Paddock.

On arrival it emerged that three female members of staff had been forced to go to the rear of the shop and an unknown quantity of cash had been taken.

The two men placed the money in a white plastic bag and it is believed they made off in a small dark coloured two door car, possibly a Renault Cleo or similar and headed towards the Manchester area.

No weapons were seen by staff and they were not injured.

The first male is described as white, 5′ 8" and wearing a full black mask, possible snood type style, with eye and mouth holes cut out; a navy coloured rain jacket with hood up, black gloves and black tracksuit bottoms.

The second man is white, 5′ 10" tall, of slim build. He was wearing a black mask, black gloves and a navy coloured rain jacket, waist length which was zipped up. It had an emblem on it which was a grey, swirly rounded pattern. The top of the jacket was mottled and lighter blue than the bottom which was a plain dark colour. He had tracksuit bottoms which were elasticated at the bottom and black lace up pumps with a thin black sole.

Anyone who sees the men or witnessed the robbery should contact DC Charlotte Astbury at Wilmslow CID quoting incident number 196 of 6.1.2012 on 101. Information can also be given anonymously on the Crimestoppers number 0800 555 111.
