Are you fighting fit for 2012?

Many people make New Year's resolutions, but keeping to them isn't always easy, especially when it comes to getting healthy.

If your resolution is to get fit in 2012 then Wilmslow Health Centre are offering a great start to the new year with free automated health checks.

The health centre has just installed a state-of-the-art machine in the waiting area which offers a free height, weight and blood pressure check to everyone over the age of 18.

In addition to providing free information about your vital statistics the machine is also discreet – with no "speak your weight" announcements.

Local residents are invited to just call and collect a token from reception. No appointment is needed and readings are printed off for users to keep and take with them to their nurse or doctor appointment if appropriate.

Dr Brennan, a partner at Wilmslow Health Centre said, "We know that many people have new year resolutions for a healthier 2012. We hope that the machine makes it easier for people to monitor their own health, help us to help them, and seek medical advice if needed."
