Community groups digging in together

Incredible Edible volunteers braved the cold and wet on Sunday, 4th December, for their monthly planting session.

They were joined by volunteers from Transition Town Wilmslow who had organised some blackberry, giant blackcurrant, gooseberry, goji berry, strawberry, loganberry, tayberry and raspberry bushes which were planted outside Wilmslow station.

The plants will encourage a wider variety of birds and can be harvested each summer, hopefully for years to come.

They were donated by Mike Carey of Newgate Allotments who has donated many more plants to Transition Town Wilmslow, which will be planted at Meriton Park next year.

Incredible Edible Treasurer, Helena Jones said "We are extremely grateful to Transition Town Wilmslow and Mike Carey for these donations and the support of the volunteers digging in with us today."
