Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault on a woman as she walked along in the Ringstead Drive/Dean Row Road area at approximately 8:30pm to 8:45pm on Sunday, 23rd October.
The female was followed from near the Dean Row Centre on Ringstead Drive, onto Dean Row Road and then onto the Pinewood estate via Pinewood Road by a male shouting at her.
Once on Pinewood Road, the male tried to take hold of the female but she managed to break free and run towards Mainwaring Drive.
The offender is described as a white man aged 19 to 20 years old, approximately 5ft 7ins tall, fat with short cropped dark coloured hair. He was wearing black jeans and a short sleeved dark t-shirt. He may also have been intoxicated as he was described as unsteady on his feet.
PC Jo Hooper said: "The victim was left very shaken by this incident. A number of passers-by were believed to be present in the area, and although this may not have looked suspicious at the time, this behaviour is of particular concern.
"We would appeal for those passers-by who may have been in the area and did see anything to come forward with information.
