One woman's junk is another's treasure

The clothes swapping craze is coming to Wilmslow this week offering women the chance to take home some new clothes without spending a penny.

Transition Wilmslow will be hosting their first ever Swish Night, where guests can bring along any unwanted clothes, shoes or accessories, which are in good condition, and take home their pick from the party's collection.

Lizzie Henshaw explained "The idea behind the Swish Night is to encourage the re-use and recycling of old clothes, shoes and accessories that everyone has lying around in the back of drawers and wardrobes. We thought it was a great opportunity to get together, meet new people and take home a beautiful new outfit in an environmentally friendly way that doesn't break the bank."

Each guest brings along at least one item of clothes, shoes or an accessory that they would like to swap. It is essential that the donations are clean and in good condition and preferable if clothes could be on hangers. The items are then put on display for everyone to choose from and go home with a great new look.

The party will be taking place upstairs at theBoardroom at Bank Square on Wednesday, 5th October, starting at 7.30pm.

When guests arrive they can leave their garments with the Transition Wilmslow team to display whilst they have a drink. Ladies will then be called to start rumaging and trying on.

Lizzie said "This should be a great chance to meet new people and have a giggle, if you think you know anyone who might be interested please pass on the message and we hope to see you there!"
