Transition Wilmslow and CycleWilmslow are gearing up for the Wilmslow Family Bike with the help of British National Champion Pro Motorpoint cyclist Hannah Walker.

The Family Bike is taking place on Saturday, 17th September, at Wilmslow's third Artisan Market.

Halfords will be offering a free bike doctor service on the stall, where two qualified mechanics will be giving out complimentary bike MOTs. British National Champion Pro Motorpoint cyclist Hannah from Disley will also be on hand to give cycling tips and advice as well as take part in the ride.

Hannah, 19, explains why she was keen to get involved with the Wilmslow bike ride: "When I was younger I was into athletics and cross country but after an injury I wasn't able to run again. I did a taster session at the Manchester Velodrome and I've never looked back.

"Cycling is so much fun, environmentally friendly and will keep you fit and is something that the whole family can do together."

Registration will commence from 10am at the stall with the bike ride taking place at 1.30pm, leaving from Grove Road. The bike ride will go through Wilmslow and Mobberley.

Rachel Corrigan, a member of a group called Transition Wilmslow said: "The ride will be supervised and a great day out for the whole family. We're encouraging people to ditch their cars and come down to the market on their bikes, have a look around, take advantage of the bike doctor and then come and join us and Hannah on the bike ride."

Each month the Wilmslow Artisan Market grows as new specialist traders are introduced, to help keep the market fresh for its visitors. At this month's market not only will you find the finest food, drink, arts and craft, but the addition of Cheshire Open Studios, offering visitors the unique chance to meet local artists and discover how and where they produce their work.

Wilmslow's Artisan Market will be held on Grove Street from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, 17th of September.
