Olympic Gold Medallist Victoria Pendleton was cycling at Tatton Park on Monday, 11th July, to promote Cycletta and increase the number of women on wheels through her women only bike rides.

The Cycletta series, sponsored by Sky Ride, consists of two cycling events in 2011, one of which will start and finish at Tatton Park on Sunday 2nd October - taking a 40km route through safe roads where Victoria often cycles as part of her relentless training regime.

Cyclists of all abilities will join Victoria, many of whom will be raising money for good causes including Macmillan Cancer Support, Cycletta's Official Lead Charity.

Wilmslow girl Victoria Pendleton is the driving force behind Cycletta and is working tirelessly to encourage all ladies to take to the saddle and join in as a great way of keeping fit and enjoying her favourite sport.

Victoria said "Through Cycletta I want to inspire women to join me and cycle – as a hobby, a sport, a way to get fit and healthy or a way to escape. Whatever your reasoning, cycling can improve your life and Cycletta events will bring women of all abilities together to take on their own cycling challenge."

Cycletta is also working in tandem with Sky Ride and British Cycling to encourage more women onto bikes and currently 75% of entries into Cycletta are new to cycling events.
