National Trust support Incredible Edible scheme

The wonderful National Trust staff and volunteers at the Apprentice House, Quarry Bank Mill have donated some herbs to Incredible Edible Wilmslow to get them started.

The herbs will be planted in community plots across the town for everyone to enjoy their fragrant smells and taste the unmistakable flavours of mint, oregano and the lesser known rat-tailed radish!

These herbs will be available for everyone to try alongside other herbs, fruits and vegetables donated by local family Garden Centre, Ned Yates.

We’re working together to get Wilmslow a place of edible beauty, for everyone to see, smell and taste seasonal crops.

Planting of the community plots will begin week commencing 11th April 2011, starting outside Waitrose and Wildings. Over the coming weeks, Incredible Edible will move on to other planters across town and will be working with the Friends of Styal Station and the newly forming Friends of Wilmslow Station to really give our town a sensory experience, wherever they wander.

If you wish to find out more, details are on the website www.incredible-edible-wilmslow.co.uk.
