The Barnby Choir is coming to Wilmslow High School to perform to perform their next concert on Saturday, March 12th.

They will be joined by Cheshire Sinfonia, to give a passionate and joyful programme of music, consisting of Edward Elgar's Music Makers and John Rutter's Magnificat.

Publicity Secretary Helen Hall said "This programme will appeal to all concert goers with beautiful music which shows both the chorus and the orchestra off to great advantage. For people perhaps less used to attending classical concerts this offers a very accessible way to find out just what an enjoyable and uplifting evening this can be."

The Barnby Choir is a friendly mixed voice choir with around 70 members. They are based in Wilmslow and rehearse on Tuesday evenings at Wilmslow Methodist Church where they will also be holding a Singing Day on Saturday 19th March.

Frances Cooke will be coaching for the day and the choir will be working on Coleridge-Taylor's Hiawatha's Wedding Feast. The day will run from 9.30am until approximately 4.30pm and will conclude with an informal concert at 4pm.
