This week saw the U9 divisions of the Timperley & District Junior Football league reworked following the first few weeks of games.

The U9’s play a series of round robin matches, the results of which are used to determine which league each team is best suited to. For the first time in Wilmslow Town’s history there are now two teams in the top division - the U9 Cougars and the U9 Jaguars. Both are now looking forward to what promises to be a keenly fought derby match in the coming weeks.

The U9 Jaguars started their time in the new division with a 3 - 3 draw against Stretford Victoria. In blustery conditions this was a fair result with the team showing great team spirit having gone behind in the first third. On the score sheet this week were Murison, Potter and Vitale.

The U9 Panthers had home advantage this week in their fixture against Sale United and used it to record a 4 - 2 win. The scorers for Town were Martin (2) and Kennedy with the the other being thanks to an own goal.

In one of several draws for the club, the U12 Cougars travelled to Benchill Celtic and held on for a 2 - 2 result, where Bell and Graham found the back of the net.

For the U14’s it was home from home as in this local derby Wilmslow Town & Wilmslow Albion share the same home pitch. After last seasons close games this was again a close call with Boyle (2) and Jackson adding the three goals for the 3 - 3 draw.

The 7 - 0 win for Town’s U15’s against Altrincham FC sees them clear at the top of their league table. Keeping the referee’s pen busy were Johnson (2), Swindells (2), Gardner, Storey and Whatson. Also claiming top spot in their league the U16’s had a narrow 4 - 3 win at home to St Johns Celtic. There was a brace of goals for Gibson-Smith, with Holmes and Kirk adding to the total.
