Two Halloween parties become one

As some of you will have noticed from our events calendar two separate Halloween parties had been planned at the Alderley Edge Festival Hall on consecutive nights.

Having realised that two similar events were scheduled, the organisers, Wilmslow based charity Kibera in Need (KIN) and the Alderley Action Group, have decided to combine forces to create one big Wizard's Halloween bash on Friday 29th October at the Festival Hall.

Estelle Goodwin explained "We met up this week and agreed that two Halloween parties are not sustainable in Alderley Edge.

"This was a pragmatic decision but both groups are pleased to be working together as a team. KIN is delighted that the Alderley Action Group has agreed that some funds can be raised for our projects.

"There will be Halloween games, music from Imagine FM and the chance for party goers to both have a good time and give to a great cause."

KIN provides a lifeline for children and adults living in the Kibera slum, an area of 2.5 sq. km in Nairobi, Kenya. The slum is home to 800,000+ people where houses are sheds with corrugated iron roofs, roads are tracks strewn with litter, sanitation is non existent and raw sewage spills over the pathways.

Entertainment at the Wizard's Halloween Bash will kick off with a free children's party from 6pm to 7.30pm. This will be followed by an adult's event from 8.00pm until 12.30am.

Entertainment at both will include bobbing for apples, 1st and 2nd prizes for fancy dress, which is recommended but optional, and 1st prize for the best carved pumpkin. Music will be provided by Imagine FM, food will also be available along with drinks from the bar in the evening.

For those who fancy a fright, at 8.30 pm there will be a guided torch lit walk up to The Edge and back with a complimentary drink at The Wizard. Those who take part in the walk, which is open to over 16's only, will receive a £5 ticket refund upon return to the festival hall.

Whilst the children's event is free and open to all, the adult bash is limited to 300 guests. Adult tickets, priced £15, are selling fast so if you want to celebrate the spooky season in style purchase your tickets from Beauty Works, Carrier Travel, Fiorucci Hair, Fosters Fish & Chips, Rainbow Balloons, The Potting Shed, The Wedding Shop, Travel By Design, Wienholts and Worldwide Escapes.

Alternatively, tickets can be bought direct from KIN by emailing Estelle, or calling 01625 538902.
