Hundreds attend free health and wellbeing fair

The first Health and Wellbeing Fair for residents of Wilmslow, Alderley Edge, Handforth and Chelford was a great success on Saturday, 13th April with over 500 attendees and all stalls booked to capacity.

There were a variety of stall holders from the health, social, public health, voluntary and community sectors at the free event, who were happy to discuss ways residents can take control and improve their health with many useful tips and helpful advice including,

The feedback from residents was overwhelmingly positive with standing room only at some of the health talks and offers of blood pressure checks, ear checks and healthy living and longevity advice were taken up with enthusiasm from the attendees.

Dr Fari Ahmad the clinical lead of Chelford, Handforth, Alderley Edge and Wilmslow Care Community (CHAW), who organised the event said " We were blown away with the enthusiasm and energy of the stall holders, volunteers, speakers and attendees. Events like this empower our community to take control of its own health which, given the perilous state of the NHS, is becoming increasingly important."

She added "The Care Community are keen to see if this can become a regular event."
