Charity gardens day raises nearly £20,000

The recent Wilmslow Wells for Africa (WWFA) Gardens Day was another great success raising over £19,000 to help provide clean water and sanitation in Africa.

Nearly 1,000 visitors enjoyed the gorgeous weather and took the opportunity to explore 16 local gardens where they were able to experience a wide range of beautiful gardens and refreshment.

Chairman, David Cash, commented "It's great that so many people enjoyed a wonderful day out last Saturday and in doing so, that the money they spent will enable fresh clean water to be brought to around 6,500 people living in remote parts of Africa.

"This not only brings enormous health benefits but also means that many hours spent carrying water from remote sources every day are saved."

Next year marks the 40th anniversary of WWFA. Since it started the charity has raised more than £1.5 million with over 99.5% going to provide clean water and sanitation to some of the most needed areas of Africa.

Thank you so much to all the owners of the wonderful gardens, and to David & Carys Cash in particular.
