1st Lindow Scout Group is pitching a challenge to the budding young sleuths of Wilmslow to help solve a fun mystery this summer.
The make-believe mystery surrounds the scouts' tents, which have disappeared. The Group Scout leaders are asking for help to uncover the tents' whereabouts, by following the directions and solving a series of clues.
The answers are hidden around town, along a 2km walking trail that anyone can join.
The family-friendly and pushchair-friendly walking route starts outside Sainsbury's and ends at the Carrs playground.
It costs £5 to receive a mystery guide by email or £7.50 to receive a printed copy by post and all the money raised will go towards covering the costs of running 1st Lindow. The guide includes all directions and clues to solve this Wilmslow mystery.
Ian Moffitt, Group Scout Leader for 1st Lindow says: "Like everyone, we've seen our costs go up since the pandemic, and we're hoping the mystery challenge will be fun and raise funds!
"All money raised will go towards 1st Lindow Scout Group to continue offering fun, challenging and enriching experiences for our young people."
Adam, a Cub at 1st Lindow, said "We loved working out the clues. Some were tricky but Mum helped me." Jacob, aged 11 and a Scout at 1st Lindow also commented on the clue solving: "We solved all the clues and it was fun to do. My favourite part was clue 1, as I've walked past loads but never really looked at the sculpture and story outside Sainsbury's before."
The missing tents mystery is suitable for 6 years and up, with adult help.
As an extra incentive to put on your walking shoes and thinking caps, there's a possible £50 reward on offer. When you've worked out the whereabouts of the missing tents and the culprit you will be entered into the prize draw on 1st July.
For Beavers, Cubs and Scouts, taking part will count towards a challenge badge.
