Residents gather to celebrate the Coronation

Local residents gathered in Bank Square for a big community Coronation celebration on Sunday, 7th May.

Organised by Wilmslow Town Council and Wilmslow Business Improvement District (BID), the event was put together to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III.

Activities and entertainment included Punch and Judy, crazy golf, face painting, community stalls, crafts and funfair-style games with events spanning across Bank Square, Grove Street, Green Lane and Hawthorn Lane.

The sun shone as visitors turned out in numbers to listen to live music on stage hosted by Cheshire's Silk Radio. Local lad Luke Carter kicked off the day, followed by Jess Scragg, then Catherine Taylor Dawson finished up the day with a set of sing along feel-good songs.

Across the town centre local businesses set up street food stalls and mobile bars outside their premises, to help create a 'Coronation Street Party' atmosphere.

Lisa Russett said " We hope you all enjoyed yourselves and we can't wait for the next event to show once again why Wilmslow is WAY BETTER!!!!"

We took some of the grandchildren and some of our big children it was really good. The sun shone which lifted everyone's spirits, it was great to see everyone smiling and enjoying themselves.
Thank you to everyone who made this happen and helped the day be successful.
