2023 Election Results: Independents win both Handforth seats

Handforth residents have elected two independent councillors to represent them on Cheshire East Council.

Councillor Julie Smith has been re-elected whilst her husband John Smith took the other seat.

Handforth Ward - represented by 2 councillors.

  • Nisa, Ribia - Labour Party -  668 votes, 15.47% share
  • Hutchene, Simon - Conservative Party Candidate - 312 votes, 7.23% share
  • Robertson, Matthew - Conservative Party Candidate - 291 votes, 6.74% share
  • Smith, John - Independent - 1300 votes, 30.11% share
  • Smith, Julie - Independent - 1474 votes, 34.14%
  • Earl, James Andrew - Liberal Democrats - 273 votes, 6.32% share

Turnout = 32.98%
Rejected ballots = 22
