A town centre pub is reopening a month after closing its doors "for the foreseeable" future due to spiralling costs.

The Anthology on Swan Street will reopen under new management on Friday, 5th May, for the Coronation Bank Holiday weekend.

Following a £500,000 investment by the Spirit Pub Company, the former Swan pub re-opened in June 2015 under the new name Anthology.

After trading for nearly eight years, a spokesperson for Anthology posted on Facebook in April 2023 "It's with deep sadness that, due to rising utility & rent bills, we unfortunately have to announce that Anthology Wilmslow has closed its doors for the foreseeable."

I really hope the pub reopens again . It was one of our most historic pubs being a stage coach inn for the change of horses. It would be great to have a wider choice of pubs following the Anthology's closure and that of the Dancer. Wouldn't it be fantastic if it was the Swan on Swan St once more?
