Police officers conducted a warrant and an address in Wilmslow today (Wednesday 25 January).
A 68-year-old man was arrested at the address on suspicion of possession of a firearm without a certificate.
David Lock, of Church Street, Wilmslow, has since been charged with the offence.
He has been bailed to appear at Crewe Magistrates' Court on Thursday 9 February.
