Local super heroes wanted to light bonfire and set off fireworks

Three local super heroes are being sought to light the bonfire and set off the fireworks displays at this year's Wilmslow Bonfire and Fireworks event, which take place on Saturday 5th November.

Do you know know someone who has helped the community, or is a great help to yourself?

Organisers are inviting people to nominate their local hero by completing the online form by Sunday 16th October.

This year the bonfire will be lit by someone in the local community, with an online voting poll. Additionally, Wilmslow Round Table and Ladies Circle will make a donation to the local charity and organisation of the winner's choice.

The event is run by Wilmslow Round Table and Wilmslow Ladies Circle, with help from local community groups

Gates will open at 5pm, with the bonfire lit at 6:30pm, children's firework display at 7pm followed by the main fireworks display 7:30pm as well as a range of music and entertainment throughout the evening.

Kicking off at 5.15pm, artists and acts will include:

  • Rock Choir (5.15pm-5.35pm/6.10pm-6.30pm)
  • Singer Jess Scaggs (5.35pm-5.50pm/6.45pm -7pm)
  • CHYPS Panto Group (5.50pm-6.10pm/7.10-7.30pm)

There will also be a selection of food stalls available, including German sausages, Caribbean street food, pizza, crepes, ice cream vans and three bars.

Advance ticket prices are available up to and including Friday 4th November, after this time tickets can still be purchased online at the on the day prices. Tickets can also be purchased at the gates on the night by card only.

  • Adult - Advance £8.50 or £11.50
  • Child (Age 4 to 16 inc, under 4 free) - Advance £5.50 or £7.50
  • Family (1 Adult and 2 Children) - Advance £16.50 or £23.50
  • Family (2 Adults and 2 Children) - Advance £25.00 or £33.00
