Rubbish piles up as recyling bins not emptied for over 8 weeks

A group of Handforth residents are pleading for the Council to take action as it is now over 8 weeks since their recycling bins were last emptied.

As a result the bins are overflowing at Wilmslow View, a development of 21 flats and one business.

Local resident Tracy Williamson said "We need Cheshire East Council to step up and empty these bins as it's unacceptable."

Speaking last week Councillor Julie Smith said "I was contacted by residents of 3 multiple occupancy properties last week as their refuse collections had been missed. I spoke to the manager responsible for the collection crews and he assured me they would be actioned.

"Oakmere and Hanna Court were emptied but Wilmslow View still hadn't been done as of Friday afternoon when I left a further message for the crew manager to contact me. I will be speaking to him again on Monday morning as the situation is unacceptable."
