A police investigation is currently being carried out following allegations that a prison officer has been having an affair with an inmate at Styal Prison.
A spokesperson for Cheshire Police confirmed "Cheshire Police are investigating an allegation of misconduct in a public position at HMP Styal in Wilmslow.
"A 49-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the allegation and has been released on police bail."
