A keen walker who had been a valued leader of 2nd Handforth Brownies for over 30 years was remembered with a special sponsored walk in her honour.

Chris Raynor enjoyed her walking so when she lost her fight against cancer last year the Rainbows, Brownies and Guides decided that they would like to raise money for Cancer Research in her.

The girls collected sponsors, walked the circuit in Meriton Road Park wearing pink and carrying pink balloons and have managed to raise a total of £1,024 so far.

Pam Street, District Commissioner of Handforth Girlguiding, said "It was lovely to see all sections joining together, having fun whilst raising money for a good cause and we were so grateful to Handforth Senior Section and other Leaders from the District for their help and support."

Handforth District is always looking for new leaders. Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer contact District Commissioner Pam Street on 07990 821911 or email [email protected].
