The third Wilmslow Art Trail will be taking place next Friday from October 14th to Sunday 16th October.

Organised by the Wilmslow Business Group and supported by Wilmslow Town Council, this year's event will see 34 local artists showcasing their work in 19 venues across the town.

Each of the venues is located in Wilmslow's town centre enabling visitors to walk, or cycle their way around the trail with several locations offering refreshments so visitors can make their way around the trail and enjoy a coffee or a light lunch along the way.

Wilmslow Business Group has produced an Art Trail Map and a booklet containing all the details on each artist which can be collected from many retailers and cafes in town. Copies of the booklet will also be available at the Wilmslow Artisan Market, which is taking place on the same Saturday as the Art Trail.

After the success of last year's postcard sale, artists have once again generously donated a piece of original work in post card form. These will be available to view and buy from Castletons Accountants on Kennerley Lane, with all proceeds going to the East Cheshire Hospice.

This year we are pleased to add a different dimension to the Art Trail through the inclusion of the Performing Arts. Visitors to the trail will have the opportunity to observe a live rehearsal of the play, Prescription For Murder written by Norman Robins and performed by members of the Wilmslow Guild Players. Live rehearsals will be taking place at The Wilmslow Guild Players (Location 10) between 2-5pm on Sunday 16th October 2016.

Furniture maker and Wilmslow Art Trail founder, Garry Olson said "All artists are looking forward to another successful Trail. Many of them have taken part before but there are new participants this year to add interest. Hopefully the community will support them, and the venues, by visiting as many as possible and taking the opportunity to buy original work."

Catherine Mackenzie Chairman of the Wilmslow Business Group said "The Art Trail is a great event which brings art onto the high street. We hope that young and old will enjoy viewing the art, meeting the artists, and may be even purchasing a piece or two. Wilmslow Business Group members, including retailers, bars and restaurants are looking forward to hosting the artists and welcoming visitors into their premises."
