Warning after a car and cash stolen in two burglaries

Police are urging residents to be vigilant following two recent burglaries in Handforth.

A burglary has occurred overnight on Monday, 27th June, on Windemere Road. The rear conservatory doors of the property were forced open and a key taken for a VW Golf. The offenders then made off from the address in the vehicle.

Additionally a property on Cherrington Close was broken into during the afternoon on Friday, 24th June. Entry was gained via a bathroom window, an untidy search was made and numerous items were stolen including an amount of cash.

A police spokesperson said "Please if possible set your house alarms at night or adjust them so that sensors are only activated downstairs so that you are free to move around upstairs."

Cherrington Close Handforth: Entry was gained during the afternoon on the 24/06/16 via a bathroom window, an untidy search was made and numerous items were stolen including an amount of cash.
