Community Awards shortlist announced

communityawards

Wilmslow's first ever Community Awards, organised by the Wilmslow Business Group to celebrate remarkable people in the local community, will be taking place on Thursday 19th November at the Evans Theatre.

Annabel Tiffin, co-presenter of BBC North West Tonight, will be hosting the evening and handing out the awards.

Over 400 nominations were received for the awards, which will recognise great neighbours to amazing volunteers, young heroes who achieve against the odds and businesses who go the extra mile - so there will be plenty to celebrate on the night.

Catherine Mackenzie, Chairman of Wilmslow Business Group said "It was incredibly heartening to read about the wonderful work that goes on in the community. There are so many people who deserve recognition for what they do and we hope that the town will really get behind the spirit of the awards. Judging the winners has been an extremely difficult task. Everyone who was nominated can be very proud."
