Nazik celebrates her 100th birthday

Hazelmere 100 Birthday

Nazik Freeman, a resident at Bupa's Hazelmere House care home on Pinewood Road in Wilmslow, celebrated her 100th birthday last week in the company of family, friends and the Mayor of Cheshire East, Councillor Hilda Gaddum, who delivered a birthday message from the Queen.

Nasik was born in Istanbul in 1915, and moved to France as a young adult where she met her husband Leo. They got engaged on a boat, before moving to England to get married. She was happily married for 45 years.

Carol Dwyer, manager at Hazelmere House, said: "It was an honour and a privilege to spend such a special day with Nazik. The presentation of the birthday message from the Queen by the Mayor made the occasion even more special."
