Wilmslow Police release CCTV image after attempted robbery

Police in Wilmslow have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with an attempted robbery at a shop on Knutsford Road.

At 9.18pm on Friday, 25th September, a man wearing a balaclava and holding a baseball bat entered the Village Store. The shop assistant was in the back of the shop and saw him on CCTV. He had the presence of mind to activate the alarm and left by the rear door.

The offender was seen to look around the store and then leave before unsuccessfully trying to stop the victim from driving off.

The victim drove a safe distance away and called police whilst the offender fled empty handed.

DC Steve Joyce said: "We want to make sure we identify this person and bring him to justice so that we can stop him in his tracks. I would urge anyone with information to contact me."
