Cheers to a new style of wine shop

Wilmslow shoppers are invited to toast the launch of a new store next week as Wine Rack opens its doors on Alderley Road.

Wine Rack will be officially opened by Councillor Keith Purdom on Saturday, 17th October, and local residents are invited in the to store on the same day between 11am and 4pm to enjoy wine sampling, cocktail making demonstrations, and food and wine matching with celebrity chef Nigel Brown.

The store will be home to wines selected by Wine Rack's Master of Wine, Susan McCraith which will be displayed by country, from popular destinations such as New Zealand, South Africa and France to lesser-known wine-producing regions such as Macedonia and India.

The store, which has created five new jobs, will offer daily tastings and feature four different wines every six weeks, focusing on a new grape, a new region or a new producer. It will also have a fully-licenced seating area, which can fit up to 15 people, will allow customers to sit with friends and enjoy tasting the store's recent discoveries.

Haydn Hicks, manager of Wine Rack Wilmslow, said: "At Wine Rack, we will have something for every taste and every occasion. From the way the wine is displayed, to the tasting tables and staff recommendations, it is all aimed at helping shoppers find their perfect bottle of wine.

"We'll sell really unusual spirits and wines, with a focus on new discoveries from across the world. Prepare to try something new! We can't wait to open the store and invite everyone to browse the shelves, ask questions and discover a new favourite drink."

The opening day will take place on Saturday, 17th October from 11am until 4pm.
