Clay Lane in Handforth will be closed for six weeks to enable National Grid Gas to carry out a gas mains replacement.
The closure will be in place for 24 hours a day from the Wilmslow Road roundabout to 40 metres west of the junction with Brompton Way.
It is anticipated that the works will be carried out between Monday 28th September and Friday 6th November.
The alternative route during the closure will be via Wallingford Road, Richmond Avenue, Grangeway and Wilmslow Road.
