Electricity North West is investing £120,000 to upgrade the power network which supplies electricity to almost 2,000 residents in Styal.

The four-week project will start next week when engineers will be working in the area between Altrincham Road and Styal Prison to replace aging underground cables which have supplied power to customers for more than 55 years.

Dave Kenneford, plant project manager for Electricity North West, said: "This investment will mean our customers in Styal will continue to receive the best service and enjoy a reliable power supply which most of us take for granted in our daily lives.

"This vital work highlights our commitment in ensuring we keep the lights on for our customers in Styal and across the North West."
