Students from Wilmslow High School have been helping children at local primary schools to learn different languages as part of the school's Language Leader programme.

Over 50 Language Leaders accompanied by sixth form students undertook a programme of primary school lessons in several of their feeder schools. Students delivered lessons in French, German and Spanish to pupils in Years 3 to 6, teaching them how to describe the weather, playing games and singing songs.

Teacher Wendy Stoner said "Our students should be commended for their superb performance. They planned stimulating lessons which were enjoyed by all, showed confidence and maturity in their delivery and proved themselves to be excellent ambassadors for Wilmslow High School."

This term there will be another visit to Alderley Edge Primary School by students in Year 10 and the Language Leaders will be running activities for the Year 6 pupils as they join the school during transition fortnight.

Additionally, two ambassadors, Elizabeth Forster and Amelia Budd, have volunteered to help run the Spanish club at Lacey Green Primary School and have been commended by the staff for their confidence and the relationships they have forged with all the pupils.
