In Pictures: The 2015 Wilmslow Art Trail

We had a wonderful day wandering around Wilmslow seeing all the original artwork on display.

This year's Wilmslow Art Trail has grown from 29 exhibitors last year to include 40 very talented artists - whose work is being showcased in 22 venues across the town, including shops, churches, bars and coffee shops.

New for this year is a postcard art sale in aid of East Cheshire Hospice. Participating artists and the Chancellor of the Exchequer MP George Osborne, generously donated a piece of original work in postcard form.

These are available to buy for only £20 each from Castletons Accountants on Kennerleys Lane and when we called in this afternoon there will still some available to purchase, so you may still have the chance to own an original piece of art for just £20 whilst raising valuable funds for our local hospice.

It was particularly great to see people of all ages enjoying the trail and to have the opportunity to meet with most of the artists involved, who were on hand to discuss their work.

The Wilmslow Art Trail continues tomorrow, Sunday 7th June, and we'll be returning to visit the handful of venues we missed today, because we ran out of time.

Look out for orange and black balloons around the town, indicating where the artists are exhibiting their work, the Art Trail map can be downloaded here and copies can be picked up from participating venues.

Excellent afternoon viewing so many lovely exhibits. Topped off by an evening with Wilmslow symphony orchestra at the leisure centre.
