Improvements to Wilmslow Road in Handforth are to be carried out by Cheshire East Highways over two weekends, beginning on Saturday, April 11th.
Works will be phased over weekends to minimise disruption meaning that Wilmslow Road will be closed over the next two weekends on:
· Saturday April 11th from 6pm to 11pm, Sunday April 12th from 8am to 5pm
· Saturday April 18th from 6pm to 11pm, Sunday April 19th from 8am to 5pm
Phase one of the scheme, on Saturday April 11th and Sunday April 12th will see resurfacing of Wilmslow Road between Church Road and Station Road, including replacement of road markings.
Phase two will focus on the Wilmslow Road/ Station Road traffic lights junction which will be resurfaced and road markings replaced on Saturday April 18th and Sunday April 19th.
A diversion route will be in place to help traffic flow while works are in progress and will be signposted via the A555 Manchester Airport Eastern Link Road, A34 Wilmslow/Handforth Bypass, A538 and B5166 Manchester Road. Emergency vehicles will be given access at all times.
Residents and businesses have been consulted and there will be a works supervisor available on site to provide help and advice throughout the duration of the scheme.
