St Barts spruced up for Christmas Tree Festival

Over 800 people visited St Bartholomew's Church for the Wilmslow Christmas Tree Festival which was held over three days at the weekend.

The church looked stunning, decorated with Christmas trees of all different shapes, sizes and colours. They were donated by sixty-three local organisations, schools and businesses, who have put a great deal of effort into decorating them.

Performances by the Academy of St. Peter's Hale, who were joined by the brass section of the Wilmslow Symphony Orchestra, and The Manchester Gospel Choir were well attended on the Friday and Saturday evening. Followed by the Christmas Carols sing-a-long on Sunday afternoon which saw the church filled to capacity, with standing room only.

Jonathan Meadmore, Chairman of the Friends of the Parish, said "It was a wonderful weekend, the many Christmas Trees looked stunning. Thank you to everyone who participated in providing trees, to all the performers, to all those who came to see the spectacle, and to all who worked so hard to ensure the success of the event."

Can't decide on my favourite - the woolly pompom sheep tree from the Brownies... the golf club tree from Alderley Edge Golf Club... Gorsey Bank's newspaper tree... so many to choose from, all different, all brilliant!

An enjoyable event. Gorsey Banks newspaper tree was the best. Shame that there were a couple of trees decorated with business cards, one of which has brochures under it. A bit crass and not in the spirit of the event. No more business cards next year please!
