Following the introduction of the Wilmslow Christmas Tree Festival nine years ago, St Bartholomew's Church will be staging this year's event.

Local businesses, schools and organisations are invited to participate by decorating and displaying a tree with their own special theme.

Anna Meadmore said "We invite you to provide a tree for our Festival– it could be a real one, an artificial one, something created to look like a tree, it could be green, black, gold, white, blue etc. The tree could have lights, it could be decorated beautifully or at random, it could make a statement about you, your company, organisation, the community, the world at large, issues concerning mankind..... it is your choice. But we would like you to contribute a tree."

The festival will take place from Friday 28th November to Sunday 30th November and will feature a variety of entertainment including "Strings and Brass" with the Academy of St. Peter's, Hale and the brass section of the Wilmslow Symphony Orchestra on Friday 28th and The Manchester Gospel Choir will perform on Saturday 29th November.

The festival will conclude on Sunday 30th November with a Christmas Carol sing-a-long with the St. Bartholomew's Church Choir, featuring the Chelford Handbell Ringers from 4pm to 5.30pm. Refreshments of mulled wine and mince pies will be available at all three concerts.

Admission to the festival will be £2, with no charge for children under 12.

Tickets for the evening concerts, priced £10, are available from Jonathan Meadmore (01625 549196), Joel Millett (01625 525409), Kathleen Ridings (01625 522094), Yvonne Warren (01625 530134) and Wilmslow Parish Hall (01625 520309) or email [email protected].

All proceeds from the festival will go to Friends of the Parish of Wilmslow to support various aspects of the church, including the music and the fabric of the building.
