Wilmslow Conservative Club hosted a competition this month to decide who would be the first winners of the Kevin Shackleton Memorial Bowls Trophy.

The battle was between two 21-player teams, the Conservative Club against the Royal British Legion - who travelled all the way from the other end of Grove Avenue.

Tracy Wickenden explained "The prize was a trophy in honour and memory of Kevin Shackleton who sadly passed away earlier this year. Kevin was an active member of both clubs and is deeply missed."

Wilmslow Conservative Club won and had the honour of receiving the trophy from Kevin's wife Elaine and son Simon.

The raffle and auction raised a fantastic £448 for the Macmillan Nurses and Cancer Support charity.
