Man who threatened to drive into bank charged

A man who threatened to drive his van into the front of a bank in Wilmslow town centre has been arrested and charged with the threats.

PCSO Chris Hopkins said "On the 22nd September 2014 at 14:14 hours Cheshire Police received reports of a male who had damaged a chair in the Lloyds TSB Bank on Alderley Road, Wilmslow and was threatening to cause damage to their premises.

"A short time later a 41 year old male from the Bramhall area was arrested and later charged and bailed to appear at court for criminal damage and threats to cause criminal damage."

The man is due to appear at Macclesfield Magistrates Court next month.

The male who threatened to drive into the Wilmslow bank appeared in court yesterday.

He has been given a £300 fine and 90 hours unpaid work.
