A kind little girl from Handforth has had her long locks cut off to help young cancer sufferers.
Sadie Moore, 8, had her long blonde hair cut at Little Big Heads on Saturday, 8th February. The locks she had cut off will be sent to the Little Princess Trust, which provides free real-hair wigs to boys and girls that have sadly lost their own hair through cancer treatment.
Her mum Suzannah Moore said "Sadie was a little nervous before having her hair cut but remained firm that she wanted to go ahead. The ladies at Little Big Heads were so lovely, they made Sadie feel really special and made a real fuss of her which helped calm her nerves.
"Sadie has grown her hair since being born only ever having it trimmed. Ever since she discovered Rapunzel she has been determined to grow her hair long enough to sit on. When Sadie decided she wanted to have it cut I told her about the Little Princess Trust."
Sadie is aware that cancer treatment can make your hair fall out as a teacher from Sadie's school has a little girl who had cancer recently. She brought her young daughter into school as she recovered because the children were concerned she was OK. So Sadie thought it sounded like a fantastic idea to send her hair and raise money too."
Sadie has raised over £600 now, passing her first target of raising £450. The money will be split between Little Princess Trust and the cancer ward at Manchester Children's Hospital.
Suzannah added "Sadie loves her new grown up short hair and said she can't get used to not having to brush long hair or un tuck it from her tops! Sadie is really delighted that people have donated so much already. Her Brownie troop 2nd St Mary's in Handforth have been supporting her as well as her school Gorsey Bank Primary."
