Bar Sport is set to re open under new management and new ownership in time for the World Cup.

Less than a month after its closure a notice has been placed on the window announcing that the venue will be back up and running for when the 2014 World Cup kicks off in Brazil on Thursday 12th June.

Daniel Slifkin opened the sports bar at Parsonage Green, in the premises previously occupied by La Tasca restaurant, in May 2013 following a reported £1m investment.

On May 1st 2014 the property was repossessed on behalf of the landlord by a debt recovery company.

Bar Sport was first set up in the West Midlands in 1998 and operates half a dozen franchises around the country.

Watched most of Lions tour there, so was sorry to see it go. Good place for families to watch sport together & their spicy chicken wings were awesome too!!

Can't see it being any better than before - Overpriced rubbish food, can't hear yourself speak, Sport ! more like football.

Perhaps the new management would consider cleaning and maintaining the outside area before they actually move in.The area is an absolute disgrace at the moment filled with used pizza, kebab boxes, plastic bottles and general rubbish.Would suggest this is also a health hazard

Without sounding like a bit of a NIMBY (Not In My Back Yard), I don't think I really want to encourage this sort of establishment in Wilmslow. Copious alcohol, sporting rivalry's developing into bawdy behaviour, excessive TV volume stifling a good conversation etc

I have visited this bar on a single occasion. I sheepishly ventured upstairs to the so-called VIP lounge (I don't consider myself to be a VIP) and expected to see Mario Balotelli having a mineral water with young James Milner. Sadly it seemed to me that the criteria to be a VIP in that lounge was measured by the aggregate volumes of beer consumed and vocal chords.

No, not for me really and judging by the failure of this venture, not really for many of the local residents of Wilmslow either.

What Wilmslow really needs in this location is a good, old fashioned premium quality greengrocers. There is a gap in the market, mark my words. They are the coffee shops for the 2100's.
