Thai restaurant closes

phanthong use

A Thai restaurant has closed its doors nine months after opening on Hawthorn Lane.

Phanthong Thai opened their first Wilmslow restaurant in July 2013 in the premises previously occupied by Trevi Pizzeria Restaurant.

Then, following the relocation of Chilli Banana to Water Lane, they went into partnership with the Kings Arms public house and opened their second Wilmslow restaurant in November 2013.

Phanthong Thai will continue to operate at the Kings Arms on Alderley Road where they offer 75 covers.

Wilmslow went from having one Thai restaurant to four in the space of six months. What would you like to see open at 2 Hawthorn Lane? Share your thoughts using the comment box below.

A quality Chinese restaurant, please! The town has more than enough Thai, and has lost all its Chinese restaurants in recent years leaving only take-outs.

We have so much choice in Wilmslow to be honest.
Chinese at Yangs, good fish & chip bars, a Japanese, Paradise Spice is an amazing Indian and there are a few of those...... to be honest I'd love a traditional Pizzeria....... Pizza Express is very hit & miss x

Oh dear - it's disappointing to read that Food Standards Agency rating of 0 for Yang's.
We've always had lovely food there - never any food poisoning - and I do rate it as a decent Chinese.
Really like Phanthong too - good competition for Chilli Banana and practically nicer, in fact!

Chinese please! Agree with the above, Yangs is an insult to Chinese food and would never go back.
